» How to upload my Ad? |
How to upload my Ad? top You can publish your property right from the home page by clicking on the Upload your property button. You can also upload your ad from My account section after the login process. Note: in order to publish in novaprop.com, you need to be a registered user. Steps to publish your realty: First, select a location in the location field search box. You can type places such as neighborhoods/quarters/districts as well as city sections (always try to begin your search by being as much as accurate as you can --first try: neighborhood name). After the location has been selected, fill in the data regarding the Street, Number, Floor (optional), Zip Code (optional). Complete the property features (in this step, try to be short and accurate since you are able to expand the property description in the Property Description text field). Continue with the Property description field completing every detail you consider important about your realty. Important note: keep in mind that the complementary search engine utilizes any given detail on this field to provide better results for the user's query. Once all realty data has been entered, click Next in order to continue with the video uploading. The next screen will show the Select video file field and an Examine button from which you are able to select an existing video file from your computer. In case you do not own a property video, you are allowed to upload photo images (with a minimum of three and a maximum of ten files). With these photo files, the novaprop engine will automatically create a video slide show. (see more about this subject). Once your video file has been selected, click on Upload video and the system will start the data transfer, notified with the message "The video file is being transferred to our system. Please wait". At this time, and while the video transfer is still in process, PLEASE DO NOT CLOSE your browser window until you are notified that the process is completed. Nevertheless, you may continue internet browsing on any other browser window. Once your video has been uploaded and converted in our database, you can verify that it is succesfully published in My account section. Can I modify my Ad once it has been published? top Yes. You may change any given data: description text, feature tags, even replace the video. To accomplish this, log in, go to My account, select the ad you want to modify (you may also modify an Ad whith a video file still in process), and then click on the Edit link found directly underneath the video thumbnail. The ad modification process is divided in two steps: the first one involves the data previously entered (Address, Price, Currency, Description, City or location, etc.). The second step regards the video file submitted: at this point the system will ask you if whether you wish to replace the video or keep the old one. How much time it takes to upload a video? top The time it takes to upload a video file depends on many factors: the quality and size of the video file, the user's internet connection speed, and whether the user is running other applications that consume bandwith. Remember that in some cases the upload may take several minutes; nevertheless, the user can continue browsing or using any computer software at the same time, as long as the browser window utilized by the upload process is not closed for the time the data is being transferred. How can I optimize the video upload time and process? top For high quality videos or a file size larger than 100mb., we recommend to pre-compresses them in order to accelerate the uploading time and conversion. For this matter, you can find many freeware video compression programs that convert and resize any video format to novaprop.com standards. Frame size of video format used by our system is 400x300 pixels. Please remember that the maximum file size uploadable is 100 megabytes. How many ads may a user publish? top The user may publish as many ads as he needs, as long as he follows Novaprop.com Terms and Conditions. City or location? top In this search field the user can not only look for a city but also a city section, neighborhood, district, etc. For instance, the user can look for "new york" (city) as well as do a more accurate search by looking for "soho" (neighborhood inside New York City). We recommend for accurate results to look for the smallest divisions first: neighborhoods, districts, sections. This is critical, especially when the user chooses the location for uploading your ad. What is complementary search for? top In this search box the user can specify some particular features about the property being looked for, such as pool, garage, even enter a ZIP code number. For instance, if the user looks for apartments in Manhattan and adds the word "balcony" in the complementary search box field, the system will omit from the results all apartments in Manhattan that have no balcony. What is code search for? top In this search field the user can find a specific property by entering the code number assigned to it when uploaded. How does the "improve your results" feature works? top Once the first property results are shown, the user can improve them by entering a specific property feature in this field; for instance, if the user has looked for apartments in Manhattan, and then wishes to only see apartments with balcony, he can type "balcony" and the system will filter all apartments without balcony. Furthermore, the user can also enter a ZIP code or a street name. Why are ads without video? top There are two kinds of ads in this group: ads whose video file is still being processed, and ads whose video file has not been correctly transferred to the database. The first kind is represented by a sand clock thumbnail, and refers to those ones recently added to the database which remain in the conversion queue (no user action required). What are videos in process? top These videos have been successfully uploaded but still remain in the conversion queue. There is no need for any user action here: it is only a matter of minutes for the video to be shown online. The requested ad does not exist? top This means that the ad the user is looking for is no longer available in the system. Causes of this may be: the property was sold, the property's publishing time expired, the owner removed the ad, etc. Select video file? top At this step, the user should click on the Examine button to open a file browser window in the computer. Then look for the file to upload, select it and click Accept (or double-click on the file). Available video formats are: mpg, 3gp, avi, wmv, flv. I do not have a video file, I wish to upload photos? top If the user does not have a video of the property, the alternative option is to upload photo images (with a minimum of three and a maximum of ten files). With these photo files, the novaprop engine will automatically create a video slide show. Property description? top In this text field, the user has the chance to add all the property details considered of importance in order to expand the information given in the above fields. Keep in mind that all information entered here will be considered by the Complementary Search. For instance, if a potential customer looks for "sea view" and the publisher added this description in the Description field, the novaprop.com search engine will give this ad a better position in the results. How long will the ads be online? top Duration depends on the property type. The first upload for Apartment, House, Storehouse/Warehouse, Office, Plot, Garage, Commercial store/Shop, Timeshare, and Villa/Chalet publications will be of 45 days, and their renewals will be for 30 days. In the case of Farm/Ranch, the ad will last 60 days for the first upload, and the renewal will be for 45 days. In the particular case of Hotel/Inn, the duration will be for 360 days, and the renewal is annual. If no renewal action is taken by the user, the ads will be automatically erased after the publishing time has expired. How does the publisher realize that one of his ads is next to the expiration date? top The publisher will be notified via email every time one of his ads is about to expire in two opportunities: the first email will be send 7 days before the expiration, and the second one 48hs in advance. It is important to remember that renewals are only allowed when the ad has entered its expiration period, marked by the first notification email. In addition to this, the remaining days of the ad are always shown under de video thumbnail for the logged user to track. How can the user renew an ad? top First of all, the user can only renew an ad whenever it has entered its expiration period (seven days before it's expiration, see more). To renew an ad, the user must login in order to access My account and then select the Publications close to expire tab. In this section, the user can select one or more ads and then click on the Renew button. Selected ads will be renewed automatically. Why the location is not found in the database? top There are two possible reasons for this: 1) The user could be searching in a very large location division, for instance, having entered United States (country) when actually the user is interested in Manhattan (city). 2) The searched location is not found in the database. In this case, we encourage the user to contact novaprop.com (Help us improve bottom-page link) suggesting the absent geographical location in order to contribute for a better database. |
